Launch and Concept
Released in 2023 as part of Guerlain’s L’Art and La Matière collection. The perfumer Delphine Jelk sought to merge honey’s glowing sweetness with the depth and dignity of tobacco. The idea is to let tobacco “turn to gold” when touched by honey.

Fragrance Family and Style
Falls under Oriental Woody / Amber Woody territory. It’s gourmand, but not just sugar — the woody, smoky, and spicy elements keep it from feeling one?dimensional. Very much a “statement” fragrance, with luxury and depth.

Note Structure

• Top notes: Honey, Cloves, Anise — the honey is bright and sticky, while cloves and anise introduce spice and sweetness.

• Middle notes: Tobacco, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Sesame — this heart is where the tobacco becomes prominent, smoothed by vanilla and tonka; sesame adds a slight nutty, textured richness.

• Base notes: Oud (agarwood), Sandalwood — the foundation gives it creamy woods and a mysterious resinous depth.

Scent Evolution and Feel
On first spray, Tobacco Honey hits with a lush burst of honey sweetness, warm spices (clove, anise), and a touch of raw tobacco. The honey feels very rich — thick, golden, almost edible. As it develops, the tobacco leaf heat comes through more; vanilla and tonka soften the sweetness so it doesn’t become overly sticky. Over time, the scent settles into a creamy, woody base: sandalwood + oud + lingering amber?tobacco sweetness. There’s also a powdery nuance that shows up (honey + tobacco + spices) that gives a slightly refined, less “sticky syrup” feel.

Longevity and Projection
Very strong. Many report that it performs like a “beast” in terms of lasting power and projection. It remains noticeable for many hours, especially on fabric, and has a generous sillage. Because of its sweetness and depth, a little goes a long way.

Best Use / When It Shines
Tobacco Honey is ideal for evening, colder weather (fall/winter), special occasions or times you want something luxurious and cozy. When the air is cooler, the sweetness and wood notes bloom more beautifully. Because it’s rich and dense, using it more sparingly in warm weather may be wiser — it might feel overwhelming otherwise. Works well for someone who enjoys gourmand / sweet tobacco scents and wants something sophisticated.
