    Bay was launched in 1999 by Givenchy. It leans into natural, green woods and herbal tones rather than loud sweetness or synthetic sparkle. The style is more mature, outdoorsy, and aromatic.

      The opening is crisp and herbal: rosemary and pine give evergreen freshness; galbanum introduces a sharp green edge; mandarin adds a citrus lift in the back.

    Bay begins with green, piney, herbal tones — almost like walking through a forest after rain, with aromatic herbs underfoot. As it develops, the fragrance becomes richer: wood tones emerge, herbs soften, floral and spicy mid notes show up. The base settles into a warm, resinous, slightly sweet finish thanks to vanilla and benzoin, which mellow out the green harshness and give comfort.

    It has moderate to good longevity. The green and wood aspects project well in the early phases. Over time, the scent becomes more skin?close but still noticeable, especially in intimate settings or when moving. The base helps carry it through a good number of hours.

    Bay works particularly well in cooler weather (spring, autumn) when green woods and herbs feel right. Outdoors, casual or semi?formal settings suit it better than formal business or hot indoor spaces. Because of its herbal / wood balance, it can also be worn in the daytime or early evening. Not a heavy “night?clubbing” scent, more thoughtful.
