  • Launch and Concept
    Baccarat Rouge 540 was released in 2015 to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Baccarat crystal company. The idea was to create a scent that feels like crystal: transparent yet dense, radiant and intense.

  • Fragrance Family and Style
    It sits in the amber?woody floral space. The style is elegant and modern; it has strong projection and a bold presence but also refined craftsmanship. It’s designed to be unisex.

  • Note Structure

    • Top notes: Saffron, Jasmine — these give an aromatic warm spice plus soft floral lift.

    • Middle notes: Amberwood, Ambergris — these deepen the scent, adding resinous warmth and a slightly mineral character.

    • Base notes: Fir Resin, Cedarwood — woody undertones that anchor the scent, balancing the sweetness and giving it structure.

  • Scent Evolution and Feel
    At first spray, you get a pronounced warm, spicy?floral burst: saffron gives richness, jasmine adds delicacy. Shortly after, the heart smoothens out and the amber elements emerge — golden, glowing, slightly sweet but not sugary. As it dries down, the woods and resin become more noticeable, giving depth, texture, and an elegant dry finish. The cheek?hugging trail is noticeable; people often comment on it long after application.

  • Longevity and Projection
    Performance is strong. It tends to last many hours on skin and even longer on clothing. Projection is bold in its early phase, then gradually becomes more intimate but still very present.

    Best worn in cooler to moderate weather (autumn, winter, evenings) because its warmth and amber?woody facets are more comfortable then.
