        Released in 1993, Platinum Égoïste is from Chanel and created by perfumer Jacques Polge.

      • Fragrance Family & Style
        Aromatic Fougere / Woody Floral Musk. It’s designed to be modern, clean, aromatic, and elegant rather than loud or heavy.

      • Note Structure

        • Top notes: Lavender, Rosemary, Neroli, Petitgrain
          These give a crisp, fresh green-herb opening with hints of clean floral and citrus lift.

        • Heart (middle): Geranium, Clary Sage, Galbanum, Jasmine
          Adds complexity via herbal bitterness, floral brightness, and slightly green sharpness.

        • Base notes: Oakmoss, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Cedar, Amber

        When first applied, it starts energetic and fresh — herbs and lavender are prominent, with green/orange peel‑like freshness from petitgrain and neroli. As it moves into the heart, the green herbal edge (from galbanum, sage) mixes with floral brightness. Over time it warms up: woods and moss take over, giving a more grounded, soft, somewhat moody finish. Clean and elegant, with a touch of “barbershop” cool.

      • Longevity & Projection
        It performs reasonably well: good presence especially in the first few hours. Projection is noticeable early, then it becomes more intimate as the base layers come forward. It may not be super long lasting like some heavy orientals, but it tends to stay around long enough for several hours of wear.

        Great for daytime wear, office settings, spring & fall especially. Works nicely in moderate weather where the fresh herbal opening can breathe. Also fine for evening if you want something elegant and understated rather than loud. Probably less ideal for very cold nights (where heavier woods/resins or sweet perfume might be preferred) or very hot humid days (it might feel slightly sharp in the heat).
