• Launch & Creator
  Released in 2005, Dunhill Fresh was created by perfumer Maurice Roucel. It’s meant to be a “green fresh classic” with herbal complexity rather than just citrus brightness.

• Fragrance Family & Style
  It falls into the woody floral fresh / green aromatic category. The vibe is refreshing and clean, but with enough herbal and woody depth to give it character. It leans more mature than youthful sporty scents, though still very wearable.

• Note Structure

  • Top notes: Mint, Green Notes, Basil, Lavender, Sage, Freesia — a cool herbal/green burst up front.

  • Heart (middle): Violet, Iris, Mimosa, Freesia — adds a soft floral texture, slightly powdery and elegant.

  • Base notes: Vetiver, Cedar, Oakmoss, Patchouli, Amber, Coumarin — woods, moss, a bit of earthiness, along with a warm, slightly sweet resinous touch.

• Scent Evolution & Feel
  At first spray, the fragrance greets you with fresh herbs and bright green tones — mint, basil, sage, lavender all contribute to that refreshing feel. After a short while, florals soften the sharp greens; you’ll smell violet, mimosa, iris adding sweetness and smoothness. In the dry‑down, the woods and moss come forward: vetiver, cedar, oakmoss, and patchouli give a warm, grounded depth, with amber and coumarin adding a gentle warmth. The overall transition is fresh and lively → soft floral → warm woody skin scent.

• Longevity & Projection
  Performance is moderate. Early projection is noticeable (especially the green and herbal opening), but it tends to mellow out and become more intimate after a few hours. On clothes or in humid air, it can last longer. It’s not a beast, but for what it is, the performance is acceptable.

  Ideal for warm weather — spring, summer, possibly early fall. Daytime wear, casual or semi‑casual situations, perhaps work where you want to smell fresh without being too loud. Also good for outdoor settings, traveling, or any setting where freshness is appreciated. Probably less ideal in very cold or formal evening settings, where richer, heavier fragrances might be more fitting.

  Dunhill Fresh feels clean, slightly herbal, green, and elegant. It doesn’t try to dominate; it gives an impression of someone neat, composed, with good style. The herbal green opening gives energy; the woods in the dry‑down give maturity. It’s not flashy, more quietly confident, something you can wear comfortably without worrying it will be too much.
